The EDG and EDR model plants are specially designed for the production of spirits (such as grappa, whiskey, brandy, and others) starting from fermented products obtained from starchy, sugary, and vinous raw materials.
EDR plants are very similar to EDG plants, but allow to produce a distillate with an alcohol content up to 96% ABV.
Both are designed to work under vacuum, allowing boiler steam to be used at any pressure.
Depending on the starting fermentation and the distillate to be obtained, the equipment that makes up an EDG or EDR plant can be made of stainless steel (AISI 304 or AISI 316), copper, or a combination of the three materials.
